Venessa Visits and Mt Evans!

Adam's cousin Venessa came to visit us at the end of May and we had a great time hanging out with her, showing her around Denver and Owen loved her! We went to the summit of Mt Evans one day when she was here and got some great pictures.

The moth, the window.... and Adam!

So it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and we were just hanging out waiting for Owen to wake up from his morning nap so we could go to the pool. It was just then that a small moth came flying around the kitchen, I trapped it in the fly swatter and asked Adam to finish the job. By finish the job... I meant kill the moth, remove it from the house and leave the house intact. But instead my wonderful husband went at the moth with such force in defending his family that he punched a hole right through the kitchen window, sending glass everywhere. For several minutes afterwards we listened as the glass fell to the ground outside and shattered.

did I mention.... the moth survived the assault.

My loving husband hoping that I will plug the shop vac in for him to vacuum up the glass that is all over the outside. How convienent that we now have a hole in our house that makes this so much easier!

The garbage disposal was filled with broken glass as well and broke. But adam fixed it quickly.

He didn't move the entire time he was out there. He wanted to know just what daddy was doing.

Sawing away the siding of our house to get the old window out. In the end he did it and hung the new window which looks amazing. All in all it wasn't too bad - Adam learned out to install a window, we replaced 1 of 20+ windows in our house that need replacing, and the moth lived to fly another day.

Spring Project

The flower beds in the front of our house were just disasterous. We finally got around to fixing them up. Unfortunatly I didn't take a picture until we had atleast cleaned out all the debris and dead plants - but I still think the pictures show how much better it looks!

The GIANT pile of dirt that Adam had delivered to the house to fill in the new flower beds (2-3 times more than we needed!)

April Skills

Owen is doing a lot better these days, he has stopped vomiting and has started gaining weight again so we are happy with that. All was well at his 9 month check up so as long as he continues to keep his food down we should be good to go. He has been very busy the past few weeks getting into everything. He is pulling himself up onto his knees now which is pretty exciting.

He has also learned how to sit up on his own (which he did just before this picture was taken)

Its been a long time since we got some significant snow out here (the last good snow was December 07) so we were very excited to have some of the white stuff! Adam spent the morning after shoveling the driveway, sidewalk, and Saturn.

An Update!

Many of you know Owen was having some trouble with vomitting for the past 2 months or so, he got checked by his pediatrician last week and as it turns out he hasn't been growing and dropped in his wt % a significant amount since his last check up. He sent us to a specialist at Children's Hospital who wants to do a bunch of tests on him, however the little guy FINALLY stopped vomitting - so we have decided to postpone the testing to see if he is going to bounce back on his own. Hopefully, he will start keeping most of what he eats down and we can avoid having to go back to the hospital - I'll keep you posted!

This past Sunday was a beautiful 70 degree day so we decided to go for a hike. It was a warm and sunny day and we had a lot of fun taking Owen on his first hike. He seemed to enjoy it in the cozy stroller.

This was the very first picture that was taken! He was such a good boy for his photos. He had just learned how to sit up the two days before we took these so he was a bit unsteady and had a few spills but for the most part he looks like a pro!

South Carolina Trip

My grandfather passed away on January 15 and we drove down to South Carolina for the funeral. It was a sad time for everyone but it gave our family a chance to all be together to remember him. We left Denver on the afternoon of the 14th in hopes of getting down there in time to say goodbye and for him to meet Owen, sadly we didn't make it in time but we were very glad we could be there with gramma and the rest of the family.
